An Ending to our Journey

Beryl. Miriam. Diana with the red hat. She was so shy and sooooo far behind the other kids. We bought her underwear when we noticed she was stuck in her sweltering sweater everyday to cover up the tear in her dress that showed her tiny bare bottom. Beryl the copy-cat who tried saying everything we said. her smile brightened my day every time we got to school! And last mamma joyce. I'll never forget when she made us sit in her office for hours and then fed us an entire avocado. sounds good, but they are like the size of a cantelope in Kenya and you can only eat so much of them...ugh. not to mention launi made me finish hers before she threw up.
Oh and the mandazi story. "We'll take 4 mandazi's" =)

Do observe Fed's goatee. baaaaahahahahaha probably the best thing i'd ever heard! <3 love you Fed!
Here's us having tea on the morning. A photo of Wicleff's poor room in the chicken coop/kitchen. Filled with smoke daily and the sound of chickens wings flapping their feathers agains each other all night. His lungs had to be burned from sleeping and breathing in so much smoke all the time. Towards the end of our stay he had malaria so I gave him my mosquito net the last day we were there.
Stallone.
And our last day at the school with our babies!!!!!

Here's some photos of our last few days in Bungoma. Traveling to BMP--Black Man's Paradise--taking bota bota's (bike rides similar to a taxi in new york =) ) and of course our favorite people there.
Nesdie-Joshua-Hilary-Pauline-Wendy-Vivian.

We said our goodbyes on our last day and headed early that morning to Shariff Centre to catch the easy coach bus back to Nairobi. The longest drive of my life. Thadeus, Majesty, and Eddie met us at the station with farwell letters of goodbye. Some of the best friends someone could ever ask for!! And to our surprise Edwin met us there in the morning also... they all wrote in our journals and we took off.
When we got to the hostel we were low on money (we suck at budgeting) so we skipped some meals and licked a peanut butter jar we bought CLEAN. There's also a picture I have of my tongue, bright red from eating dry crystal light packets. Wow so funny!!!! Waiting to go to the airport was the longest part of the trip.
